In the afternoon of August 2, 2023, Carbonauten GMBH signed an investment agreement with Chibi to build the company's headquarter, with a total investment of 1.5 billion euros, approximately 11.8 billion yuan. After completion and operation, it is expected to produce 500,000 tons of negative carbon materials annually.
The project will be implemented in two phases: the first phase will invest approximately 150 million euros to build 20 sets of equipment systems and produce 115,000 tons of negative carbon materials annually, making it the company's largest factory in the world. The second phase plan is to build a circular economy industrial park related to carbon neutrality technology, add 80 sets of equipment systems, increase annual production capacity to 500,000 tons, and gather a group of upstream and downstream enterprises of negative carbon materials. To ensure the smooth implementation of the project, Chibi has comprehensively considered factors such as bamboo and wood resources, location transportation, and infrastructure, and has planned 100 acres of land in the Zhonghuo Optics Valley Industrial Park of Chibi High tech Zone for the construction of the first phase of deep processing project; Two plots of land with a total area of 185 acres are planned in Guantangyi Town for the initial processing of raw materials.
Carbonauten GMBH is a well-known environmental protection technology and new material innovation company that produces negative carbon materials mainly from bamboo. It can achieve "full-bamboo utilization" and has a leading technological level. Its related products are widely used in the fields of food and beverage, new materials, and green renewable energy, with broad market prospects.
Xianning has abundant bamboo resources, with 1.8 million mu of bamboo forest, accounting for 80% of the province's bamboo forest resources. There are currently 68 bamboo processing enterprises of a certain scale, producing over 600 types of bamboo products, and the annual output value of the bamboo industry is nearly 7.3 billion yuan. However, bamboo processing enterprises are relatively small in scale and scattered in distribution, lacking leading enterprises with driving force. After the project is completed and put into operation, it is expected to drive the development and growth of the local bamboo industry.
