Nansha Accelerates to Build A Modern Marine Ranching

On July 28, 2023, the Maritime Silk Road (Nansha) Forum and the Ocean Ranch Development Forum were held in Nansha, Guangzhou. Duan Dehai, Deputy Secretary of the Nansha District Committee of Guangzhou, introduced in his speech that Nansha will actively build a modern marine ranching innovation center for South China to display Guangdong's strength in ocean exploitation, and make Nansha's contribution.
This forum revolves around the theme of "Deep Expansion of Blue Core in the Bay Area", jointly exploring the specific path of modernization construction of Guangdong's marine ranches, and promoting the high-quality development of China's marine ranches. The forum, guided by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Southern Finance and Economics All Media Group, and supported by the Guangzhou Nansha Development Zone Management Committee, is hosted by the Guangdong Maritime Silk Research Institute, and co organized by the Guangdong Ocean Association, the Nansha District "Ten Million Project" Command Office, the Nansha District Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the Zhanjiang Bay Laboratory. This forum is also the fifth Maritime Silk Forum held by Guangdong Maritime Silk Research Institute in Nansha.
Duan Dehai stated at the meeting that high-quality development of the marine economy is an important lever for promoting the construction of a maritime power. This year, the No. 1 central document proposed to build modern marine ranches and develop deep-water cages, breeding factory ship and other deep-water and offshore aquaculture. Ocean ranches gather cutting-edge scientific and technological innovation achievements in the marine field, with high technological integration, strong innovation driving force, and large scale expansion, and hold an important development position in the marine economic system. Accelerating the development of the marine economy and building modern marine pastures are the characteristics, advantages, and potential of Nansha.
Duan Dehai introduced that Nansha District adheres to innovation driven development and implements the "1+2+2+7" strategy for marine ranching: "1" refers to the overall development goal of building a modern marine ranching industry technology innovation center in South China; Build a modern marine ranch equipment technology research and development and manufacturing demonstration base, a deep blue seed industry "breeding and promotion" integrated industrial base, a provincial marine ranch supply chain comprehensive service center, and a "2+2" support platform for the regional international cooperation and exchange center of marine ranches; We will make efforts in seven tracks including equipment design, equipment manufacturing, financing leasing, seed industry, deep processing of aquatic products, cold chain logistics and trading, and cultural tourism to promote the construction of Nansha marine ranches to be at the forefront of the city.
