People's Government of Guangdong and Aramco Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation

On March 26th, the Signing Ceremony of Memorandum of Cooperation between People's Government of Guangdong and Saudi Aramco was held in Beijing. The memorandum proposes a collaborative framework for exploring investment opportunities in multiple fields, including energy cooperation, research and innovation, industrial projects, financial cooperation, and talent exchange. Governor Wang Weizhong and President and CEO of Saudi Aramco, Amin Nasser, attended and delivered speeches. International trade negotiation representative and deputy minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Wang Shouwen, and deputy minister of Industry and Information Technology, Wang Jiangping, attended and witnessed the event.
Commissioned by Huang Kunming, Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Wang Weizhong, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, warmly congratulates the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation and expresses gratitude to Saudi Arabian National Oil Company, which has long been concerned and supportive of Guangdong's development. Saudi Aramco, as one of the world's largest integrated oil, gas, and chemical companies, has significant influence in the global petroleum industry chain. Guangdong is one of the important petrochemical bases in China. In recent years, it has introduced a number of billion-dollar projects, and the green petrochemical industry has developed into a trillion yuan industrial cluster. Both sides have a solid foundation for deepening mutually beneficial cooperation, complementary advantages, enormous potential, and broad prospects. The signing of today's memorandum of cooperation is a vivid practice of implementing the important consensus of the two heads of state and reflecting the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Saudi Arabia. Guangdong will fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Two Sessions of the People's Republic of China, anchor the primary task of high-quality development, implement the national treatment of foreign-funded enterprises, accelerate the construction of a new system of a higher-level opened economy, and make every effort to create a market-oriented, legal, and international business environment. We will provide thoughtful services and solid guarantees for the development of Saudi National Petroleum Company in Guangdong, and fully promote the implementation of cooperation projects. We hope that the signing of this memorandum of cooperation will serve as a new starting point, strengthen communication and mutual trust, conscientiously implement the contents of the memorandum, and accelerate and solidly promote cooperation projects, making greater contributions to the beautiful future of China Saudi Arabia friendship and cooperation.
Amin Nasser stated that Guangdong has achieved great success in attracting large-scale investment and has become a leader in the fields of petrochemicals and advanced materials; Saudi Aramco, as the largest crude oil production company and a world leading refining and chemical company, has broad cooperation space with Guangdong in the fields of petrochemicals, new materials, and strategic emerging industries. It is willing to strengthen cooperation in petrochemicals, hydrogen energy, ammonia energy, and other areas, support Guangdong's development of modern and more sustainable petrochemical industry, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win with China and Guangdong.
