On December 10th, the inaugural meeting of the Ocean Energy Professional Committee of the China Energy Research Association (hereinafter referred to as the Ocean Energy Special Committee) and the First Ocean Energy Summit were held in Tianjin. Shi Yubo, Chairman of China Energy Research Association, Wang Chengshan, academician of the CAE Member, Sun Zhengyun, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of China Energy Research Association, Lian Jijian, President of Tianjin University of Technology, Shi Xingchun, Supervisor of China Energy Research Association, and Liu Huihong, Deputy Secretary General attended the meeting. More than 80 experts and committee representatives from universities, research institutes, and enterprises attended this meeting.
The meeting elected the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the First Committee of the Marine Energy Special Committee. Lian Jijian was elected as the Chairman, while Liu Xiaochi, Chu Jingchun, Shi Hongda, Zhang Yongliang, Yang Qingshan, Liu Run, Wang Zhangling, and Li Wei were elected as Vice Chairmen. Nominated by the Chairman, the Special Committee appointed Gao Xifeng as Secretary General, and Li Ye, Cui Lin, Wang Haijun, and Yao Ye as Deputy Secretary General.
Lian Jijian stated that with the implementation of China's dual carbon goals, the development of zero carbon energy, mainly wind and light, will inevitably achieve leapfrog development, and the potential for marine energy development is enormous. The Marine Energy Special Committee will conduct policy research around offshore wind power, offshore photovoltaic power generation, offshore wave power generation, offshore tidal power generation, offshore temperature difference power generation, complementary development of marine wind, solar, and wave currents, integrated development of offshore wind and solar energy with offshore oil and gas and mineral energy, and marine wind and solar energy+(wind and solar fishing, energy storage, hydrogen production), providing policy and institutional supply for the development and utilization of marine energy; Strive to break through key technologies and bottleneck technologies in industrial development, and continuously provide internationally leading scientific research results; Carry out technical consulting services and achievement uation, promote the transfer and transformation of high-level scientific research achievements in marine energy; Organize the formulation of national and international standards for new fields of marine energy development, and promote the standardization, specialization, and internationalization of marine energy development; Carry out professional training and exchange, establish professional international academic journals, organize publicity and promotion, and promote the deepening of innovation and application of marine energy technology.

In his concluding speech, Shi Yubo stated that with the rapid development of digitalization, intelligent technology, and new marine energy systems, marine energy development will face more opportunities and challenges. The establishment of the Marine Energy Special Committee brings together more universities, institutions, and enterprises to join the ranks of key technology research, high-tech product development, and industrial application in marine energy. It will play a key role in the development of the new energy industry in the future. Further deepen the implementation of the "Four Revolutions and One Cooperation" new energy security strategy, and make new and greater contributions to promoting the high-quality development of new marine energy technologies, promoting green and low-carbon energy transformation, and serving the national major energy strategy security. Lian Jijian wrote a report titled "Top Ten Technological Challenges and Challenges in Marine Energy", which systematically reviewed the main technical difficulties and challenges currently faced in the development of marine new energy, and pointed out the directions in which technological breakthroughs are urgently needed in the field of marine new energy. In the round table meeting, the attending experts expressed their insightful views on the development of the new energy industry chain and conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges.
