On April 19th, Zhonglin was invited to attend the 2021 (Guangzhou) China Europe Investment Cooperation Conference. Themed as "Opportunities and Challenges of China Europe Cooperation in the Post Epidemic Era", the conference was hosted by the International Business Agency of North Wales, Germany, in collaboration with Huangpu District and Guangzhou Development Zone, and hosted by the Guangdong China Europe Enterprise Cooperation Promotion Center. The leaders and representatives of the Huangpu District and Development Zone Government in Guangzhou, the Consulate General of Germany in Guangzhou, and the North Weizhou International Business Agency delivered speeches and made important reports to lay the macro tone of cooperation between China and Germany. A strategic cooperation signing ceremony and a roundtable dialogue on topics such as "Sino German trade, investment, law, and new energy" were also held on site.
In 2020, China surpassed the United States for the first time to become the world's largest trading partner of the European Union. At the same time, the European Union is also China's current largest trading partner. The daily average trade volume between the two sides exceeds 1 billion euros. Even during the pandemic, the bilateral economic and trade between China and Europe showed strong resilience, especially the highly anticipated China Europe freight trains that achieved counter trend growth and continuously broke operational records. As an important global economy, China and Europe will strengthen cooperation and strongly promote the early recovery of the global economy. Overall, China and Europe share enormous common interests, which is the foundation for China Europe relations to seek common ground while reserving differences and develop well. With the strengthening of multilateral cooperation between China and Europe in the post pandemic era, the attractiveness of Europe to Chinese investors will also be further enhanced. At the same time, Chinese enterprises are also facing new market opportunities and challenges in their investment cooperation with Europe.
