On February 10, 2012, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper led a Canadian delegation to officially visit Guangdong. On the evening of the 10th, the Canada-China Business Dinner was held at the Shangri La Hotel in Guangzhou. The Chairman of our company, as a representative of entrepreneurs in China Canada cooperation, was invited to attend. That evening, the Governor of Guangdong Province, Zhu Xiaodan, attended and delivered a speech. Chinese Ambassador to Canada, Zhang Junsai, and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zhang Kunsheng, also appeared at the banquet. More than 600 people from all walks of life attended the dinner, including members of the Canadian delegation and representatives of Chinese Canadian entrepreneurs.
Harper stated that Canada recognizes the importance of coordinated development between China and Canada, and the potential for Canada to strengthen its strategic partnership with China, especially in expanding cooperation with Guangdong, is very evident. Canada has the ability to contribute to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. I hope that Canada, China, and Canada Guangdong can further strengthen cooperation in all aspects with a more open attitude in the future, and work together to deepen mutually beneficial economic and trade relations.
